At various points in this SFE, reference is made to a dental practitioner being “employed or engaged” by a contractor (or by a pilot scheme provider or a provider of services under section 35 of the 1977 Act).
Patients in receipt of relevant dental treatment have to pay charges in respect of that treatment under the NHS Charges Regulations, unless they are exempt from paying the charge by virtue of either Schedule 12ZA to the 1977 Act or the NHS Charges Regulations.
