Texas Department of Criminal Justice definition

Texas Department of Criminal Justice or “TDCJ” means a department of the government of the U.S., State of Texas. The TDCJ is responsible for statewide criminal justice for adult offenders, including managing offenders in State prisons, State jails, and private correctional facilities, funding and certain oversight of community supervision, and supervision of offenders released from prison on parole or mandatory supervision. The TDCJ operates the largest prison system in the United States.

Criminal acts, primarily committed for personal gain and acts arising primarily from prior personal relationships between perpetrator(s) and victim(s) shall not be considered terrorist acts. Terrorist act also includes any act, which is verified or recognised by the (relevant) Government as an act of terrorism.

  • TIF Act means the Real Property Tax Increment Allocation Redevelopment Act, Sections 99.800 to 99.865, inclusive, of the Revised Statutes of Missouri, as amended.

  • Bank Secrecy Act means the Bank Secrecy Act of 1970, as amended.

  • Public health authority means an agency or authority of the United States, a state, a territory, a political subdivision of a state or territory, an Indian tribe, or a foreign government, or a person or entity acting under a grant of authority from or contract with such public agency, including the employees or agents of such public agency or its contractors or persons or entities to whom it has granted authority, that is responsible for public health matters as part of its official mandate.
