Methane Source means a methane source type (i.e., ventilation shafts, pre-mining surface wells, pre-mining in-mine boreholes, gob wells, existing coal bed methane wells that would otherwise be shut-in and abandoned, abandoned wells that are re-activated, and converted dewatering wells) in the aggregate. In this protocol, “methane source” does not refer to any specific shaft, borehole, or well, but instead refers to all the shafts, boreholes, and wells of the same type collectively.
