Enhanced Oil Recovery definition

Enhanced Oil Recovery or “EOR” means the use of certain methods such as steam (thermal EOR), water flooding or gas injection into existing wells to increase the recovery of crude oil from a reservoir. In the context of this rule, EOR also applies to injection of critical phase carbon dioxide into a crude oil reservoir to enhance the recovery of oil.
Enhanced Oil Recovery means any method that increases oil production by using techniques or materials that are not part of normal pressure maintenance or water flooding operations, such as injection of natural gas or CO2 into a reservoir to increase oil production from the reservoir;
Enhanced Oil Recovery. – means any secondary or tertiary recovery method used in an effort to recover hydrocarbons from a pool by injection of fluids, gases or other substances to maintain, restore or augment natural reservoir energy, or by introducing gases, chemicals, other substances or heat or by in-situ combustion, or by any combination thereof. (Section 1 of the Act)
