Driverless Train Operation (DTO) definition

Driverless Train Operation (DTO) means a train operation where a train can start and stop it but a train attendant may be present to operate the train doors and to manually drive the train in case of emergencies.

  • train operator means any person who is authorised to act as the operator of a train by a licence under section 8 of the Railways Act 1993.
