Discernible Surface Outlet definition

Discernible Surface Outlet means a defined and ascertainable channel through which water normally flows for not less than seven (7) consecutive days each year;

  • Accessible surface means the external surface of the enclosure or housing provided by the manufacturer.

  • Geologically hazardous areas means areas that because of their susceptibility to erosion, sliding, earthquake, or other geological events, are not suited to the siting of commercial, residential, or industrial development consistent with public health or safety concerns.

  • Invasive plant species means species of plants not historically found in California that spread outside cultivated areas and can damage environmental or economic resources. Invasive species may be regulated by county agricultural agencies as noxious species. Lists of invasive plants are maintained at the California Invasive Plant Inventory and USDA invasive and noxious weeds database.

  • Subsurface tracer study means the release of a substance tagged with radioactive material for the purpose of tracing the movement or position of the tagged substance in the well-bore or adjacent formation.

  • Area of shallow flooding means a designated AO or AH Zone on a community's Flood Insurance Rate Map (FIRM) with one percent or greater annual chance of flooding to an average depth of one to three feet where a clearly defined channel does not exist, where the path of flooding is unpredictable and indeterminate; and where velocity flow may be evident. Such flooding is characterized by ponding or sheet flow.

  • Underground area means an underground room, such as a basement, cellar, shaft or vault, providing enough space for physical inspection of the exterior of the tank situated on or above the surface of the floor.

  • Contaminated soil means soil that meets all of the following criteria:

  • Invasive species means an alien species whose introduction does or is likely to cause economic or environmental harm or harm to human health.

  • Survey Area means the area of land or waters the subject of a Survey, or proposed to be the subject of a Survey.

  • Soil means all unconsolidated mineral and organic material of any origin.

  • Discovery Area means that part of the Contract Area about which, based upon Discovery and the results obtained from a Well or Xxxxx drilled in such part, the Contractor is of the opinion that Petroleum exists and is likely to be produced in commercial quantities.

  • Impervious surface means a surface that has been covered with a layer of material so that it is highly resistant to infiltration by water.

  • Pervious surface means an area that releases as runoff a small portion of the precipitation that falls on it. Lawns, gardens, parks, forests or other similar vegetated areas are examples of surfaces that typically are pervious.

  • Potential geologic hazard area means an area that:

  • Structures means an elevated road or a flyover, as the case may be;

  • Water Surface Elevation (WSE means the height, in relation to mean sea level, of floods of various magnitudes and frequencies in the floodplains of coastal or riverine areas.

  • Contaminated site means a site where there is a confirmed presence, caused by man, of hazardous substances of such a level that they pose a significant risk to human health or the environment taking into account current and approved future use of the land;

  • Surface waters means all waters of the state as defined in G.S. 143-212 except underground waters

  • Landing area means that part of a movement area intended for the landing or take-off of aircraft;

  • Surface water means all water which is open to the atmosphere and subject to surface runoff.

  • Areas susceptible to mass movement means those areas of influence, characterized as having an active or substantial possibility of mass movement, where the movement of earth material at, beneath, or adjacent to the landfill unit, because of natural or human-induced events, results in the downslope transport of soil and rock material by means of gravitational influence. Areas of mass movement include landslides, avalanches, debris slides and flows, soil fluction, block sliding, and rock falls.

  • ILUA Area means the geographical area in relation to which the Framework ILUA applies, as specified in Schedule 2 of the Framework ILUA;

  • Constructed wetlands means areas intentionally designed and created to emulate the water quality improvement function of wetlands for the primary purpose of removing pollutants from stormwater.

  • Outside Areas means all areas within the Property which are located outside the buildings, such as pedestrian walkways, parking areas, landscaped areas, open areas and enclosed trash disposal areas.

  • Water surface elevation means the height, in relation to the National Geodetic Vertical Datum (NGVD) of 1929, the North American Vertical Datum (NAVD) of 1988, or other datum, where specified, of floods of various magnitudes and frequencies in the floodplains of riverine areas.

  • Surface mining means mining by removing the overburden lying above the natural deposits and excavating directly from the natural deposits exposed, or by excavating directly from deposits lying exposed in their natural state and shall include dredge operations conducted in or on natural waterways or artificially created waterways within the state.
