World Language. ● For students admitted through this agreement who have prior World Language experience, the World Language requirement can be satisfied in one of three ways: o By completing, with a grade of C or better, a 202-level VCCS language course following graduation from high school; OR o By completing with a grade of D- or better one 2020-level course from a UVA World Language department or through a UVA-sponsored direct credit study abroad program; OR o By placing beyond the 2020-level on a UVA Language Placement Diagnostic after enrollment or by earning specified scores on AP or IB exams before enrollment (see the University Record for qualifying AP and IB scores: ▇▇▇▇://▇▇▇▇▇▇▇.▇▇▇▇.▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇.▇▇▇/content.php?catoid=52&navoid=4102#Advance d_Placement_Program). ● Students admitted through this agreement without prior World Language experience will successfully complete 14 credits or four semesters of a World Language in the proper sequence, typically finishing at the 2020 level at UVA or through a UVA direct credit study abroad program. ● Students admitted through this agreement are required to satisfy the QCD requirement. This requirement can be satisfied by taking two three- or four-credit courses designated as QCD courses from any College of Arts and Sciences department. Transfer, dual enrollment, AP, or IB credit in mathematics, statistics, or another relevant quantitative College of Arts and Sciences discipline may also satisfy this requirement. By satisfying the Literacies requirements listed above – Rhetoric for the 21st Century, World Language, and QCD – students shall satisfy all upper-division general education requirements of the UVA undergraduate Arts & Sciences degree.
