Workweek and Workday. 1. The normal workweek will begin on Monday at 12:01 a.m. and end on Sunday at midnight. The normal work year for all Employees shall be twelve (12) months, July 1ST through June 30th. 2. The normal workday for full-time Employees shall be eight (8) consecutive hours, exclusive of the unpaid lunch period. The Board reserves the right to schedule Employees to work Saturday or Sunday as part of the Employees regular workweek. Such schedules will be established as new positions are added to the bargaining unit; where vacancies are created due to the severance of Employees; or on a voluntary basis. The payment for work performed on Saturday or Sunday, where part of the Employees regular workweek, will not require the payment of overtime. Work schedules mutually agreed upon will be arranged for Employees whose workweek incorporates Saturday or Sunday, so that the Employee works the same number of hours for the week as other Employees with the same number of scheduled hours for the workweek. No Employee will be required to work on the actual holiday. If projects that are not regularly part of Division 2 are implemented, the first Employees asked to work overtime shall be the Division 2 staff. Should additional Employees be needed after all Division 2 Employees have been asked, those Employees in Divisions 1, 3, and 4 shall be asked on a rotational basis by seniority. The hourly wage for all non-Division 2 Employees will be $10.00 per hour. During the month of May, the Employer shall notify all other Divisions regarding possible work opportunities, including the procedure for Employees to sign up for the work if interested. 3. In the event the Board changes a custodial Employee's work schedule in such a fashion that it constitutes a change (defined as more than two hours) in the Employee's shift, the Employee will have the opportunity to displace the least senior Employee on his/her former shift or to take the newly scheduled hours. 4. In the event the Board elects to increase the hours of a part-time Employee of this division, the Employee's position will not be posted if the increase is two (2) hours or less. If the increase exceeds two (2) hours, the position will be posted.

The normal workday for full-time Employees Nothing in this Article shall be deemed to bar the District from establishing a workday of less than eight (8) consecutive hours or a workweek of less than forty (40) hours, exclusive or preclude the District from establishing a ten (10) hour per day, forty (40) hour per week schedule for any or all employees in accordance with Education Code section 88031. If a ten (10) hour per day, forty (40) hour per week schedule is established for employees, the overtime rule, Article 10, Section B., shall be applicable in excess of the unpaid lunch periodten (10) hours in one day rather than eight (8) hours as indicated. Employees assigned to work a four (4) day, forty (40) hour per week schedule shall revert to a five (5) day, forty (40) hour per week schedule during any week in which a holiday occurs. The Board reserves District and the right Council may consult on additional alternative means of scheduling employees’ workweeks who are assigned to schedule Employees to four/forty (4/40) work Saturday schedules or Sunday as part of the Employees regular workweek. Such schedules will be established as new positions are added to the bargaining unit; where vacancies are created due to the severance of Employees; or on a voluntary basis. The payment for nine/eighty (9/80) work performed on Saturday or Sunday, where part of the Employees regular workweek, will not require the payment of overtime. In Employees’ daily hours of work and shifts shall be established at the event discretion of the Board changes a custodial Employee's work schedule in such a fashion that it constitutes a District to meet the operational needs of the District. An employee’s shift may not be changed permanently unless they are given twenty (20) working days written notice. A permanent shift change (is defined as more than any shift change which will last in excess of twenty (20) working days. Employees’ regular work schedules must include at least two hours(2) in consecutive days off. An employee who is assigned on a temporary shift shall receive the Employee's shift, highest of either their regular shift differential or the Employee will have the opportunity to displace the least senior Employee on his/her former temporary shift or to take the newly scheduled hoursdifferential. 4. In Nothing contained in this Article shall be construed as a guarantee by the event the Board elects to increase the hours District of a part-certain number of paid hours per day or days per week. 5. For the purpose of computing hours worked, time Employee during which an employee is excused from work because of this divisionholiday, vacation, or paid leaves or paid absences, shall be considered as time worked by the Employee's position will not be posted if the increase is two employee. During the term of this Agreement, upon mutual Agreement, the position will be postedDistrict and the Federation shall meet and negotiate regarding the length of the classified work year. Neither the District nor the Federation is required to agree to such meeting arid negotiation. 7. Part time employees who are required to work a minimum of two hours over their regular assignment more than five (5) times within the period of a month for two consecutive months shall have their positions reviewed and adjusted, as appropriate to meet the needs of the District.

Employees may request flexible or alternative work hours, based on an employee’s situational needs and or catastrophic conditions affecting employees, their work environment and or community where they live and travel. Reasonable effort shall be made to adjust the work schedule in such when it is consistent with the District’s operational needs. Denials shall be reviewed on a fashion that it constitutes case-by- case basis by the local administrator and the AFT representative to reach an agreed upon adjustment. When the District as a change (defined whole, or an individual campus/worksite experiences a shutdown during working hours, employees shall be paid as more than two hours) in the Employee's shift, the Employee will have the opportunity to displace the least senior Employee on his/her former shift or to take the newly scheduled hoursif they had worked. 4. In For the event purpose of computing hours worked, time during which an employee is excused from work because of holiday, vacation, paid leaves, paid absences, paid lunch or release time shall be considered as time worked by the Board elects employee. 5. All persons covered by this Agreement whose assigned time requires them to increase work one- half (½) or more of their assigned time between the hours of 3 p.m. and 12 midnight shall be paid 6.9 percent above their regular daytime rate; and if one-half (½) or more of their assigned time occurs between the hours of 12 midnight and 7 a.m., they shall be paid 13.8 percent above their regular daytime rate. If such shifts are worked less frequently than four days a part-time Employee week, such higher rates shall be paid for those days on which such shifts are worked. If such shifts are worked on a temporary basis (i.e., one day at a time), such higher rates shall be paid only for those days on which such shifts are worked. All other provisions of this divisionPersonnel Commission Rule 586 shall continue in force. When Overtime is worked prior to scheduled shift, employee shall maintain the shift differential. 6. When it is necessary, because of a reasonable business necessity of the District, to temporarily change any employee's hours of work, the Employee's position will District shall first call for volunteers.
