Work Substitution Clause Samples
Work Substitution. Work substitution agreements between individuals shall be allowed subject to Fire Department policies and procedures.
Work Substitution. An Employee may agree, solely at the option of such Employee and with the advance approval of the Employer, to substitute during scheduled work hours for another Employee who is employed in the same job title. Under such circumstances, all additional hours worked by the Employee as a substitute shall be excluded from the hours for which the employee is entitled to overtime compensation. Where one Employee substitutes for another, each Employee will be entitled to compensation as if he or she had worked his or her normal work schedule. Approval of such substitutions shall not be unreasonably withheld by the Employer; however, approval shall not be granted unless:
1. The request for approval must be in writing and signed by both individuals.
2. The date upon which the substitution will be returned is within 6 months of the original substitution.
3. The substitute shall be responsible for coverage of the shift. Nothing in this paragraph shall be deemed to authorize permanent shift or rotation switches without the express consent of the Employer.
Work Substitution. A. Whenever an employee is assigned to substitute for an employee in a higher unit grade level for more than one (1) full day or for more than two (2) half days in a week, the employee shall be paid a differential of One dollar ($.1.00) per hour for all hours actually worked in the higher grade level during that week. The differential shall not be retroactive for work performed on the first day.
