Common use of Work Above Classification Clause in Contracts

Work Above Classification. An employee who is assigned to perform work in a higher classification for more than four (4) hours shall receive an eight percent (8%) increase for all hours worked in the higher classification. This assignment must be in writing, specifying the duration of the work and signed by the employee’s supervisor. Assignment of an employee to a higher rated classification without an increase in pay shall be limited to bona fide training situations.
