WITHIN GRADE INCREASES. (WGIs) & Upward Mobility Promotions 1. When an employee's unacceptable performance will prevent the award of a Within-Grade Increase (WGI) or an Upward Mobility Promotion, they will be notified in writing at least forty- five (45) days prior to the eligibility date. The employee will be placed on a Performance Improvement Plan (PIP). 2. If the employee's performance becomes acceptable within the PIP period, the WGI shall be granted. If the employee's performance has not improved, the PIP may be modified to allow the employee additional time to meet the minimum performance standards. 3. Disputes regarding this section shall be resolved IAW Grievance and Arbitration procedures.
