Common use of Visiting Faculty Clause in Contracts

Visiting Faculty. A Visiting faculty member is normally someone who holds an appointment at another institution but has been given a temporary appointment to teach and/or conduct research at the University. A faculty member may be appointed as a Visiting faculty member for an initial period of up to two (2) years, the length of such appointment being within the sole discretion of the University. Such a Visiting faculty member shall not be a member of the bargaining unit unless previously employed by the University. Faculty members shall not serve in visiting appointments for more than two (2) years.
