Violence in the Workplace. (a) Violence shall be defined as any incident in which a nurse is threatened or assaulted during the course of their employment. This includes the application of force, threats with or without weapons, as well as severe verbal abuse. The Hospital agrees that such incidents will not be condoned in the workplace. Any nurse who encounters such acts of violence in the workplace shall verbally report the incident to his/her supervisor immediately and complete an Unusual Occurrence Report, whether experienced directly by the nurse or if witnessed as an incident involving another employee.
