UNION SECURITY DUES. 7.01 Neither the Employer nor the Union will compel employees to join the Union. The Employer will inform all new employees of the contractual relationship between the Employer and the Union. The Union and the Employer agree that there will be no discrimination, interference, or coercion exercised or practised upon any employee because of membership or non- membership in the Union. a. The Employer is authorized and shall deduct each pay period an amount equal to union dues from each employee’s pay. Such deductions commence with the first full pay period of the employment of an employee. b. The amount shall be calculated according to the Union’s dues policy. The Employer shall also deduct any initiation fees authorized by the Union. The Employer shall not deduct more than one (1) pay period’s dues from any one paycheque of an employee, except as outlined in the Union’s dues policy. c. The total amount checked off will be turned over to the Union before the 15th of the month after the checkoff is made, together with an itemized list of the employees for whom the deductions are made, their primary hourly rate, hours worked, and the amount checked off for each. Employees who maintain an employment relationship with the Employer but have not worked sufficient hours to pay dues shall also be listed, and whether they are on leave. In remitting such dues, the Employer shall provide a list of new employees from whom deductions were made and will include name, addresses, telephone number and classification. Employees may advise the Employer and Union to not publish their address and phone number. d. In consideration of the deducting and forwarding of Union dues by the Employer, the Union agrees to indemnify and save harmless the Employer against any claims or liabilities arising or resulting from the operation of this Article. e. The total amount of union dues annually paid by an employee shall be indicated on the employee’s T4 slip. 7.02 The Employer agrees that a ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ will be given the opportunity to meet each newly-hired employee. Such meeting may take place on the Employer’s premises at a time and location designated by the Employer for such meeting, and shall not exceed fifteen (15) minutes duration. The Union would be scheduled a time slot during general orientation if members of the bargaining unit are being oriented.
UNION SECURITY DUES. 10.01 The Employer shall, as a condition of employment, deduct an amount equal to the membership dues from the monthly pay of all employees in the bargaining unit. 10.02 The Alliance shall inform the Employer in writing of the authorized monthly deduction to be checked off for each employee in the bargaining unit. 10.03 New employees shall, as a condition of employment, be or become members of the Alliance within fifteen (15) days of their engagement and shall, as a condition of employment, maintain their membership thereafter. 10.04 For the purposes of applying Clauses 10.01 and 10.03, deductions from pay for each employee in respect of each month shall commence with the first full month of employment to the extent that earnings are available. 10.05 The amount deducted in accordance with this Article shall be remitted to the Comptroller of the Alliance in the month following their deduction and shall be accompanied by particulars identifying each employee and the deductions made on his behalf. 10.06 The Employer agrees to continue its current practice of making deductions for other purposes on the basis of production of appropriate documentation, for example Alliance Group Insurance. 10.07 An employee who satisfies the Employer to the extent that he declares in an affidavit that he is a member of a religious organization whose doctrine prevents him as a matter of conscience from making financial contributions to an employee organization and that he will make contributions to a charitable organization equal to dues shall not be subject to this Article. 10.08 The Alliance agrees to indemnify and save the Employer harmless against any claim or liability arising out of the application of this Article except for any claim or liability arising out of an error committed by the Employer.

UNION SECURITY DUES. 8.01 The Employer will deduct from the wages of each Employee in the bargaining unit a specified uniform amount equivalent to the regular monthly Union dues, initiation fees and assessments as required by the Union, as defined by the Canada Labour Code, RSC 1985, c. L-2 as amended, according to the constitution and by-laws of the ATU. 8.02 New Employees shall, as a condition of employment, become members of the Union within thirty (30) days of their date of hire and shall, as a condition of employment, maintain their membership in good standing. 8.03 The Employer agrees to deduct from each Employee's pay cheque an amount sufficient to fund such regular monthly Union dues and agrees that such deductions shall continue during the term of this Agreement. 8.04 The Employer shall remit such dues monthly by a cheque payable to the ATU within fifteen (15) days after the end of the calendar month in which such deductions are made. The ATU shall supply the Employer with any forms and related information necessary to facilitate such deductions. 8.05 The ATU agrees to indemnify and save the Employer completely harmless against all claims, demands, causes of actions, expenses or other forms of liability that may arise out of, or by reason of, deductions or remittances made in accordance with this Article. 8.06 The Employer shall receive written notification from the ATU of any changes in the amount of regular monthly Union dues at least thirty
UNION SECURITY DUES. ‌ 1. All bargaining unit Faculty on the active payroll as of the effective date of this Agreement, who are members of the Union, shall maintain their membership in the Union in good standing as a condition of continued employment. 2. All bargaining unit Faculty on the active payroll as of the effective date of this Agreement who are not members of the Union shall become members of the Union within thirty (30) days after the effective date of this Agreement and shall maintain their membership in the Union in good standing as a condition of continued employment. 3. All bargaining unit Faculty hired after the effective date of this Agreement shall become members of the Union no later than the thirty-first (31st) day following the beginning of such employment and shall thereafter maintain their membership in the Union in good standing as a condition of continued employment. 4. For the purposes of this Article, a Faculty member shall be considered a member of the Union in good standing if the Faculty member tenders to the Union their periodic dues, uniformly required as a condition of membership, or in lieu of Union membership, pay a fair share fee as determined by the Union in accordance with applicable law. 5. Upon receipt of a written authorization from a Faculty member in the form to be provided to the University by the Union (hereafter to be referred to as the “Union Authorization Card”), the University shall, pursuant to such authorization, deduct from the wages due to each consenting Faculty member each pay period, starting the first pay period following the completion of the Faculty member’s first thirty (30) days of employment and remit to the Union monthly all such dues or fair share fees that have been withheld from the pay of such employees. The University must receive the signed authorization at least 10 days before the requested start date for dues deduction. The Union shall be responsible for obtaining executed written authorizations from Faculty members, and providing them to the University’s Associate Vice President Human Resources and the University’s Payroll Administrator. 6. The University further agrees to deduct voluntary contributions made by members of the bargaining unit to the Union Committee on Political Education (COPE) for political action and ▇▇▇▇▇ said contribution to the Union. UNION SECURITY DUES. 3.01 Neither the Employer nor the Union will compel employees to join the Union or discriminate against any employee because of Union membership or lack of it. The Employer will inform all new employees of the contractual relationship between the Employer and the Union. Normally during orientation training a new employee will be referred by the Employer to a ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ in order to give the ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ an opportunity to describe the Union's purposes and representation policies to the new employee. 3.02 a. The Union agrees that it shall make membership in the Union available to all employees covered by this Agreement.
UNION SECURITY DUES. ‌ 8:01 The Company agrees to deduct the amount of monthly dues as determined by the Union from the earnings of each employee covered by this Agreement. The Company also agrees to deduct from the wages of each employee covered by this Agreement the amount of any general assessment levied by the Union, which general assessment shall be limited to one (1) per calendar year. 8:02 The Company will remit to the Union monthly any monies deducted together with a list of employees from whom deductions have been made. 8:03 The Union shall notify the Company in writing of any changes in the amount of dues at least one (1) month prior to the effective date of such change. 8:04 In consideration of the foregoing clauses, the Union shall hold the Company harmless with respect to all dues so deducted and remitted and with respect to any liability which the Company may incur as a result of such deduction. 8:05 The Company shall include the amount of Union dues paid by each employee during the relevant calendar year on each employee’s income tax T4 slips. 8:06 The Union will provide the Company with Union membership application forms. The Company shall include the membership application forms in its hiring package.

UNION SECURITY DUES. Section 1. Each employee may become a member of the Union. Section 2. The Employer shall deduct at each payroll period an amount sufficient to provide the payment of dues established by the Union from the wages of an employee when presented by the Union, in writing, authorizing said deductions and shall remit such deductions to the appropriate officer designated by the Union. The Union agrees to indemnify and hold Employer harmless against any and all claims, suits, orders or judgments brought or issued against the Employer as a result of any action taken at the written request of the Union pursuant to this Section.
UNION SECURITY DUES. 5.01 The Hotel agrees to deduct Union dues from the bi-weekly earnings of each employee. 5.02 The Union dues deducted will be a fixed dollar amount per pay which amount the Union will certify to the Hotel to be currently in effect according to the Union’s constitution. The required deductions shall be made for each pay period and shall be remitted within fifteen (15) days after the month in which such deductions are made to the designated officer of the Union. The Union shall advise the Hotel of the name, position and address of the aforementioned designated officer and its failure to do so shall relieve the Hotel of its obligation to remit the deductions herein provided for until the Hotel is so advised. 5.03 It is understood that there will be an initiation fee as uniformly assessed by the Local Constitution and By-Laws deducted from employees upon the completion of the probationary period. 5.04 The monthly remittance shall be accompanied by a statement showing the name and S.I.N of each employee from who pay deductions have been made and the total amount deducted for the month. Such statement shall also show the total gross earnings and the hours worked. Such statements shall also list the names of employees from who no deductions have been made and the reasons why. 5.05 The Hotel will provide the Union with a notice of change of employee status. 5.06 The Union agrees to indemnify and save harmless the Hotel against all claims or other forms or liability that may rise out of, or by reason of, deductions made or payments made accordance with this Article. 5.07 The Hotel agrees to record total Union Dues paid by each employee on his T-4 Tax Return.
