Types of Additional Work Assignments. A. Working out Of Class: Employee is temporarily performing work in a higher level classification within the bargaining unit. 1. Regular employees shall have priority to work temporarily in higher level classifications before hiring temporary employees. 2. Employees who are temporarily assigned to perform work in a higher classification shall receive step one (1) in the higher classification or five (5%) percent above their factored rate of pay whichever is greater. The employee’s current base rate is utilized in determining if step one (1) in the higher classification is at least five (5%) percent. 3. Employees who are temporarily assigned to perform work in a lower classification shall be compensated at their factored rate of pay for all hours worked. 4. Employees who are assigned work in a higher classification for training purposes shall not be entitled to additional compensation. Only employees who are the sole operator and their performance is not being monitored are eligible for additional compensation. 5. The MOA shall assign an employee to perform the duties of working ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ or lead when the regularly assigned working ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ or lead is on leave or unavailable to perform their duty. Comfort and lunch breaks, and activities incidental to the duties of a ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ or lead normally occurring during the day are not to be construed as absences. B. Acting Assignment: Employee is temporarily assigned to act in a non-represented or executive level position. A. When an employee is temporarily assigned to work two (2) or more consecutive hours in a non-represented or executive position they shall receive five (5%) percent above their factored rate of pay.
