The attribute of a person or organization that provides confidence to others of the qualifications, capabilities, and reliability of that entity to perform specific tasks and fulfill assigned responsibilities. Unauthorized Access: Occurs when a user, legitimate or unauthorized, accesses a resource that the user is not permitted to use. Unauthorized Disclosure: An event involving the exposure of information to entities not authorized access to the information. User: An individual, or system process acting on behalf of an individual, authorized to access an information system. User-ID: Unique symbol or character string used by an information system to identify a specific user. Vulnerability: Weakness in an information system, system security procedure(s), internal controls, or implementation that could be exploited or triggered by a threat source.
