To a Lower Classification. When a position is re-allocated to a lower classification the incumbent is either: 1. Transferred to a vacant position in the former classification; or 2. If the incumbent's current salary is greater than the top step of the lower classification, Y- rated at the current salary until the salary of the lower classification is at or above the Y- rate.
