TECHNOLOGY CHANGES AND TRAINING. 1.8.1 The Union and the District have a mutual interest in using new technology and automation to better serve our customers. In the event the duties of a particular classification change due to new technologies or future automation, the individuals within that classification shall be provided with adequate training to prepare them to carry out those duties while making use of new technologies. As a result of training the employee must demonstrate the ability to qualify for the position.
