Teaching Year. Except as provided below, the teacher school year shall include a maximum of one hundred eighty-three (183) workdays; according to the school calendar, NEOEA Day will be a day when school will not be in session and will not be included in the official school calendar. On days when school is closed as a result of inclement weather, lack of energy, or any other public calamity (“Calamity Days”), teachers shall not be required to report for work and, furthermore, will not be docked pay nor lose sick or other paid leave credit.
