Tax Consequences and Other Liability. Including a domestic partner in such plan(s) is likely to require an increase in the employee’s taxable income by imputing income to the employee. Employees may be held liable for any services provided to ineligible individuals and are responsible for reporting to the District in writing any termination of a domestic partnership. In addition, income to the employee will continue to be imputed to the employee for domestic partner coverage unless or until the employee notifies the District in writing that he or she wishes to terminate such coverage.
