Common use of Surface Smoothness Clause in Contracts

Surface Smoothness. 1. The Contractor will test finished surface of each asphalt concrete course for smoothness, using a 10 foot straightedge applied parallel to and at right angles to centerline of paved areas 2. Check surface areas at intervals directed by Architect. 3. Surfaces will not be acceptable if exceeding the following: a. Surface Course: 1/4 inch in 10 feet 4. Provide final surfaces of uniform texture, conforming to required grades and cross sections.
