Common use of Summer Rate of Pay Clause in Contracts

Summer Rate of Pay. A faculty member who teaches credit courses during a summer session shall receive additional pay. For each section of four credits, the pay will be the amount shown below plus eight and one-half percent (8.5%) of the faculty member's regular annual salary, up to a maximum as shown below. Amount Maximum 2021-2022 $4,300 $11,000 2022-2023 $4,300 $11,000 2023-2024 $4,300 $11,000 The figures above and regular annual salary are those determined under this article for the academic year preceding such summer session. Salary for sections other than four credit hours will be computed as the ratio of the actual number of credit hours divided by four, times the amount computed above. Faculty members teaching in summer sessions shall perform related professional responsibilities. Whenever possible, courses in the summer sessions will be taught by bargaining unit faculty members.
