Common use of Start-up Testing & Training Clause in Contracts

Start-up Testing & Training. The CMF shall prepare and issue a project start-up and occupancy plan for approval by the Owner. With the Design Consultant and the Owner’s maintenance personnel, observe the contractor’s checkout of utilities, operational systems and equipment for readiness, and assist in their initial start-up and testing. Coordinate operational testing and staff training - (1) prepare a start-up program to test, start and bring the facility to an operational level; (2) witness the test of all equipment to determine its compliance with codes, plans and specifications; (3) plan and assist in the training of the Owner’s operating staff; and (4) supervise initial operations under the control of a start-up engineer until final acceptance by the Owner for operations. The CMF shall submit written reports on this coordination.
