Common use of Special Assignment Positions Clause in Contracts

Special Assignment Positions. ‌ As of the first full pay period following July 1, 2019, Special Assignment positions within a classification may be established where duties and responsibilities are of a specialized nature by comparison to other positions in the class. Assignment of employees to special assignment positions shall be made by the Police Chief. All employees assigned to one of the following positions shall be paid an additional five percent (5%) of base salary for the term of their assignment: A. Sworn Officer: Detective, Field Training Officer (FTO), School Resource Officer (SRO), Corporal and any other position recommended in writing by the Police Chief and approved by the City Manager.
