Sleeper Cab Operations. Unless specifically addressed in this section the provisions of the applicable supplemental agreement relating to sleeper cab operations remain in full force and effect.
Sleeper Cab Operations. Should an Employer, party to this Agreement, determine to estab- lish a sleeper cab operation, during the term of this Agreement and within the jurisdiction of this Agreement, the Employer shall notify the Joint Council 40 Joint Negotiating Committee in order to estab- lish terms and conditions for such operation.
Sleeper Cab Operations. (a) Tour" will be used when referring to sleeper cab operations and shall mean the period between departure from and return to home terminal.
(b) Sleeper cab operations shall be performed by two (2) drivers in equipment properly equipped with sleeper berths. The Company shall designate the home terminal of each driver team and designate the routes to be travelled on each tour from home terminal to destination and return to home terminal and each driver shall be paid for driving one-half (1/2) the mileage the vehicle travelled in making the tour. Wherever work time is involved both drivers shall receive applicable hourly rate of pay.
(c) Once driver teams are established, it is understood that they are not to be separated unless mutually agreed to by the Company, the Union and the driver team involved except in cases of emergency or reduction in force or temporary training.
(d) Only two (2) men shall be permitted in sleeper-cab equipment at any time, except in cases of emergency or where new type equipment is put into operation. In no event shall a driver, supervisor or other authorized personnel be in the cab in addition to the two (2) drivers for more than three hundred (300) miles.
(e) No sleeper team under this Section 13 shall be placed on layover if routed on any tour with outbound mileage under five hundred (500) miles.
(f) The Company may use a sleeper-cab driver or team to effect a single man operation, but will not do this when it adversely affects the single man board or when it creates excess layover time for sleeper-cab drivers.

Sleeper Cab Operations. Section 1. An Employer may establish a sleeper cab operation, i.e., two (2) man operation, to be covered by this Agreement. It must negotiate with the involved Local Unions all conditions affecting the operations prior to effectuating the sleeper cab operation. Agreements reached must be submitted for approval to the respective Area Committee, or National Committee if a multiconference sleeper cab operation is involved, prior to implementation. Any rates or conditions negotiated by the parties in accordance with this Article must be approved by the affected membership prior to implementation.
Section 2. First outbound drop must be no less than five hundred (500) miles from home terminal except for existing approved runs. This applies to the Central-Southern Area and Eastern Area Supplemental Agreements only.
Section 3. Effective on the date of ratification, when ordering new sleeper cab equipment, the Employer shall specify the following minimum dimensions for the sleeper berths: Length 80" Width 34" Height 24" These minimum sleeper cab dimensions shall not be modified to accommodate head racks or for any other purpose.
Section 4. Sleeper berths shall be equipped with individual heat and air conditioning controls. In addition to the air-ride or air-suspension seats required by Article 30, Section 4, sleeper cabs shall be equipped with a second (2nd) air-ride or air-suspension seat which is secured to the floor. All new equipment ordered after December 18, 1995 shall be equipped with air-ride or air-suspension type passenger seats which shall oscillate and have adjustable lumbar support, height, backrest and seat tilt devices. All sleeper cab equipment will be equipped with air ride or air suspension.
Section 5. Sleeper equipment purchased after December 18, 1995 shall be equipped with a power window on the passenger side that is operable from the driver side of cab.
Section 6. The Employer must provide and maintain an adequate supply of clean linens and blankets.

Sleeper Cab Operations. Sleeper cab operations shall be between designated terminals with a designated home terminal. An Employer shall not operate sleeper cabs over the same route where he has established relay runs or through runs unless all bids are protected, except to move an unusual or overflow of freight, and in such event drivers employed on relay runs or through runs shall have full guarantee preference unless otherwise agreed to, and sleeper cab drivers shall be compensated either by the mileage rate or hourly rate set forth in this Article for all time spent on such relay route.
