Sibling. d) Time away from work due to exposure of the employee to contagious disease when attendance at work would jeopardize the health of others if such leave is not covered by Administrative Leave or other leave. e) Time away from work due to an employee’s place of business being closed by order of a public official or for any health-related reason, or when an employee’s child’s school or place of care has been closed for such a reason. f) Time away from work to attend preventive health care appointments of family or household members, up to one (1) day for each occurrence, if arranged in advance with the Department or Division. g) Time away from work to attend medically related interdisciplinary meetings necessary for the planning and care of a minor/dependent child who requires coordinated care of services in the home or school setting. h) Time away from work to be with member(s) of the employee’s household who experience injury or illness. Planned Sick Leave, as for medical appointments or procedures that are scheduled ahead of time, should be requested as far in advance as practicable. For unexpected Sick Leave, an employee must promptly notice their supervisor on the first day of Sick Leave and each day thereafter unless there is mutual agreement to do otherwise. An employee returning to work after any Sick Leave absence may be required to provide written certification from their treating health care provider that clearly states that they are able to return to work and perform the essential functions of their job, with or without reasonable accommodation. Employees will be given sufficient notice for a requirement of documentation prior to returning. If medical certification or verification is required for employees in Overtime-eligible positions, it shall be in accordance with the provisions of this Agreement.
