Child. A biological, adopted, or xxxxxx child, stepchild, legal xxxx, conservatee or a child who is under eighteen (18) years of age for whom an employee stands in loco parentis or for whom the employee is the guardian or conservator, or an adult dependent child of the employee.
Child. This is an enrollee's (a) natural or legally adopted child (effective from the date of the adoption or the date placed for adoption, whichever is earlier); (b) child for whom the enrollee or the enrollee's spouse is the legal guardian (c) a child covered under a valid qualified medical child support order (as the term is defined under Section 609 of the Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA) and its implementing regulations) which is enforceable against an enrollee*; or
Child. A person under 18 years of age, or a person 18 years of age or older who is incapable of self-care because of a mental or physical disability. An employee's child is one for whom the employee has actual day-to-day responsibility for care and includes a biological, adopted, xxxxxx, or step-child; a legal xxxx; the child of a domestic partner; or a child of a person standing in loco parentis (in place of a parent). A child is "incapable of self-care" if he/she requires active assistance or supervision to provide daily self-care in 3 or more of the activities of daily living or instrumental activities of daily living—such as, caring for, grooming and hygiene, bathing, dressing and eating, cooking, cleaning, shopping, taking public transportation, paying bills, maintaining a residence, using telephones and directories, etc.
Child. A child is the biological, adopted or formally placed, xxxxxx care child, step child or legal xxxx of the employee requesting leave and under eighteen years of age or eighteen years and over but certifiably incapable of self-care because of mental or physical impairment.
Child. For the purpose of this agreement “child” shall be used to designate the child for whom the Employee acts as a parent or guardian. This definition shall apply to all articles of this agreement.
Child. 1. Employees may use sick leave for the illness of their child with a mental or physical illness, injury, or health condition; care of a child who needs medical diagnosis, care, or treatment of a mental or physical illness, injury, or health condition; or care for a child who needs preventive medical care. For the purpose of this Section 5.1 the word “child” will have the same definition as stated in RCW 49.46.210, which is a biological child, adopted child, or xxxxxx child, stepchild, or a child to whom the employee stands in loco parentis, is a legal guardian, or is a de facto parent, regardless of age or dependency status. Any absence in excess of five (5) days will require certification from a licensed healthcare provider.
Child. For purposes of this Contract, an individual who is under nineteen (19) years of age who is not eligible for Medicaid benefits and is not covered by other health insurance. Also referred to as Member.

Child care/maternity leave without pay after delivery or adoption may be granted a Unit Member upon request for not more than one (1) school year nor less than one (1) semester.
