Common use of Shift Operations Clause in Contracts

Shift Operations. When all employees in the Highway Department have worked five (5) shifts, senior employees will be given the first opportunity to work on sixth (6th) shift operations. In the event the work is declined, the company reserves the right to allocate the work in reverse order of seniority. Highway drivers shall not be compelled to accept a sixth (6th) shift dispatch which entails a layover.
