Common use of Sergeant Differential Clause in Contracts

Sergeant Differential. A Sergeant's base pay will be four percent (4.0%) above the highest paid deputy hourly wage. There shall be three (3) steps in the Sergeant pay scale: Step 2, being an additional four percent (4.0%) after eighteen (18) months as a Sergeant, and Step 3 an additional four (4.0%) after thirty-six (36) months as a Sergeant. This new step system will be implemented retroactively for all eligible employees on the payroll as of November 12, 2008, and current Sergeants will be placed into a new Sergeant step based upon years of service as a Sergeant at the time of implementation of this new step system.
