The provisions of this MOU shall not apply during a period that an employee is separated from the representation unit but shall be reinstated upon the return of the employee to the representation unit. The term "separation" includes transfer, promotion, demotion, or reclassification out of the unit, lay-off, and leave of absence with a duration of more than thirty (30) days.
