Secondary Selection. Once all members have been given five (5) days to select their initial slots based on seniority process above, any remaining available slots may be filled by seniority on a rotating basis. Bargaining unit members shall have two (2) days to make a single secondary selection once the initial bidding period is over. Beginning October 2017, the rotation shall begin with the oldest (most senior) officer and shall proceed through the seniority list to the youngest (least senior) officer, at which time the rotation shall start over. In the event that a member passes on his/her right to pick up any available extra slots, the officer shall be treated as if he/she had selected a slot and placed on the bottom of the rotating list for future selection of secondary slots. If an officer is unavailable to fill any of the remaining slots (e.g. working normal ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ shifts or on approved leave), he will be passed over to the next officer on the list for the current month but maintain his/her standing for next month’s initial and secondary selection rotation.
