Common use of Second Shift Clause in Contracts

Second Shift. An employee assigned to work on a shift beginning between the hours of 2:00 P.M. and 6:00 P.M. will be considered to be on second (2nd) shift. The pay rate for an employee assigned to second (2nd) shift will be his/her base hourly pay rate of pay plus ten (10%) percent. An employee who is regularly assigned to the second (2nd) shift will have all compensable time paid at the higher rate of pay.
