Seasonal Layoff. The calculation in determining the six (6) months duration of eligibility for an Employer contribution begins on the date the employee is seasonally laid off.

Seasonal Layoff. For planned seasonal layoff, seven (7) calendar days notice will be given.
Seasonal Layoff. Employees who successfully bid on posted positions where expected seasonal layoffs or shutdowns are a condition of such employment, may not exercise their seniority rights on such layoffs or shutdowns.
Seasonal Layoff. ‌ If the employer needs to reduce staff due to fluctuations in the work requirements in accordance with the University of Xxxxxx calendar, the employee will receive two (2) calendar weeks’ notice of layoff and the notice will contain the last day of work and an expected date of recall to work. An employee may elect to accept layoff instead of displacing a less senior employee. The seasonal layoff procedures (above) include the winter layoff and the April examination period. During this examination period the employer will post all jobs required from the end of spring exams to resumption of classes in the fall. These positions will be filled in accordance with Article 8. Employees may also notify the employer of their availability for casual employment. Employees will be selected for casual work which they are qualified to perform in order of seniority. If an employee chooses not to be available for work during the seasonal layoff, such decision will not affect the employee's recall rights. Should any permanent position be eliminated, the affected permanent incumbent will be dealt with in the following manner.

Seasonal Layoff. 9.14 For each eligible employee covered by this Agreement who is employed full-time and who selects health insurance coverage provided by the Employer, and who is placed on seasonal layoff, the Employer shall, for up to five months of layoff, continue its contribution towards the cost of single or family health insurance premium, regardless of whether or not such employee has worked the appropriate hours within the qualifying pay period.

An employee given such temporary seasonal layoff notice will have the following options: accept the layoff, or displace an employee at the layoff site who is the least senior employee, in a lower or identical paying classification at the layoff site provided the employee wishing to bump is qualified to perform the duties of the lower or identical paying classification without training other than orientation and to the satisfaction of the Department Manager; or displace an employee at one of the other sites who has lesser seniority and is the least senior employee in a lower or identical paying classification at any site provided the employee wishing to bump is qualified to perform the duties of the lower or identical paying classification without training other than orientation and to the satisfaction of the Department Manager. Such junior employees so displaced shall be subject to (a), and above and will be provided with as much notice as possible. Should the employee elect to bump, pursuant to or above, he must notify the Department Manager within three days of the layoff notification that he wishes to bump and which site(s) he wishes to work and which classification(s) he wants to work. Should a position within the classification and at the site that the employee has expressed interest in, and that he is eligible for in accordance with and above, not be available, the employee will be laid off. Where a job becomes available at the layoff site in an employee's own classification, an employee who has been displaced or laid off shall be recalled from layoff or from his displaced position in the order of his seniority. Where a job becomes available in another classification and/or at another site an employee, who is laid off and has expressed interest in and is eligible for that job in accordance with and above, shall be recalled from layoff in the order of his seniority. The Employer shall give notice of recall by registered mail to the last recorded address of the employee. The employee shall keep the Employer advised at all times of his current address. Seasonal Layoff. The Spring Program school will be closed during the summer vacation period, as per Lakehead District School Board elementary school year calendar. The teacher will remain at work up to and including the last Friday in June. The teacher will return to work effective the Wednesday immediately prior to Labour Day. The teacher may apply any remaining vacation and/or floater credits to this closure. The balance of the closure will be a “seasonal layoff”, and a record of employment will be issued to the employee. The teacher will be ineligible to request a general leave, under section 24.07 for the purposes of avoiding or shortening a seasonal layoff.
