Same Gender Spouse Sample Clauses
The Same Gender Spouse clause defines how a contract or policy treats spouses in same-gender marriages. Same Gender Spouse. 10.17.1 The Institute will recognize a same gender spousal relationship in the same way it recognizes opposite gender relationships.
10.17.2 If the underwriters of the Institute's group benefits plans do not provide coverage for same gender couples, the Institute will make every reasonable effort, keeping in mind financial considerations, to obtain an underwriter that provides this coverage.
Same Gender Spouse. 10.18.1 The University will recognize a same gender spousal relationship in the same way it recognizes opposite gender relationships. Spouse shall include same gender spouse for all benefits, rights and entitlements of the Collective Agreement where there is no regulatory or other impediment external to the University. Spouse is defined by virtue of a legal marriage or by, at least, twelve (12) months of co- habitation.
10.18.2 The University will ensure that all of the underwriters of the group benefit plans will provide coverage for same gender spouses consistent with coverage for spouses.
