Safe Work Place. The Medical Center agrees to provide a safe work environment for all nurses working on or off its premises, including escort protection to distant locations on the Medical Center campus. This shall include establishing a procedure whereby instances of unsafe work practices can be promptly brought to and resolved by the Medical Center.
Safe Work Place. The Company agrees that it will maintain the London ceiling fans and ventilation systems. Should these systems cease functioning, the Company will make the appropriate repairs within a reasonable time. The London terminal will have ceiling fans or ventilation in the warehouse designed to reduce the hazard of leached moisture (concrete sweat) on the dock surfaces.
Safe Work Place. The Company shall make all reasonable provisions for the occupational safety and health of employees. All rights and privileges established under the laws of the Province of British Columbia in respect of occupational health and safety shall form part of this Agreement.

Safe Work Place. Staff members who work from home must maintain a safe work place at home that meets CCBDD standards. An accident at home during CCBDD work time may be sufficient cause to restrict work at home activities. All other CCBDD policies related to a safe work environment and working conditions apply.

Section Safe MaterialClean-up: The Company will provide a poweredvacuum appliance at all locationsfor the safe elimination of spilled powdered materialfrom the trailer floors and dock surfaces. Section Pay for Lost NegotiatingCommittee: The Company will pay eight (8) hours wages at the prevailing rate of pay to each member of the Union Negotiation Committee, for each day the Committee meets with the Company in negotiations, but shall not compensate for time lost by members in Conciliationor Mediation. Section Health and Insurance Entitlement during A full-time employee on lay-off will be entitled to the health and welfare insurance benefitfor three (3)monthsfrom the date of his last day of work prior to the lay-off.

The parties agree that hand hygiene is a critical element of providing safe patient care, and acknowledge that hand hygiene products and/or gloves used at the Medical Center must be approved for use by the Medical Center. That being said, the Medical Center acknowledges that an individual nurse may have sensitivity or reactions to the Medical Center’s antibacterial soap, hand rub, and/or gloves. Any nurse who experiences such a reaction or sensitivity is encouraged to come to Employee Health & Wellness (“EH&W”) for assessment. EH&W will work with the nurse to identify potential alternatives for the nurse, at no charge to the nurse.
