Return From Personal Leave. Unless otherwise provided for herein or by law, employees who return to work on a timely basis in accordance with an approved leave of absence agreement shall be entitled to the first available opening in his or her job position for which the employee is qualified, unless a more senior employee in the position and in the unit or department applies for the position. An employee awaiting return to work following a leave of absence may bid on vacant positions in the same manner as any other employee.
Return From Personal Leave. An employee returning from a personal leave of absence of thirty (30) days or less shall be returned to his/her former position as soon as possible after notifying the Employer of his/her availability to return to work but in no case later than five (5) business days. The Employer will keep the position open as long as the Employer is reasonably able to secure adequate coverage and the leave of absence does not unduly interfere with the programs and/or operations. The Employer agrees to make reasonable accommodations to work schedules and/or assignments to accommodate employees who are able to return to work with restrictions related to their work.
Return From Personal Leave. An Employee granted a leave of absence for a full semester or more must give written notice to the Superintendent or Designee at least thirty (30) calendar days prior to the expiration of the leave that he/she expects to return at the expiration of the leave.

  • Personal Leave Written request for a personal leave of absence without pay will be considered on an individual basis by the Hospital. Such requests are to be submitted to the employee's immediate supervisor at least four (4) weeks in advance, unless not reasonably possible to give such notice, and a written reply will be given within fourteen (14) days except in cases of emergency in which case a reply will be given as soon as possible. Employees needing personal leave days for appointments with medical practitioners may utilize the personal leave language. Such leave shall not be unreasonably withheld.

In the absence of agreement, the employee is entitled to take up to two days (up to a maximum of 16 hours) of unpaid leave per occasion, provided the requirements of 7.2.5(a) and 7.2.5(b) are met.
