Common use of Requirement to Report Clause in Contracts

Requirement to Report. A member who receives a requested assignment and who is unable to report for regular duty within thirty (30) calendar days following the effective date of the transfer shall forfeit the assignment, unless otherwise approved by the Chief of Police. If the failure to report is caused by an on-duty injury, the time to report for regular duty will extend for up to an additional sixty (60) days. If the failure to report is caused by a Division imposed restricted duty assignment because of an on-going investigation, the time to report for regular duty will be extended for up to an additional thirty (30) days. After the applicable periods of time noted in the above paragraph have elapsed, and the member is unable to report to his/her selected assignment, the vacancy will be reposted.
