Request and Approval. Department Directors are responsible for arranging leave schedules so that adequate personnel are available to carry on necessary City work. The use of general leave shall require approval of the Department Director or his/her designee. Whenever possible, general leave requests must be approved in advance of the days to be taken as general leave. The procedure for requesting the use of general leave shall be as follows:
