Reinstatement of Benefits Following Layoff. If an employee accepts appointment into a position from the layoff list, the Employer will pay the employee the salary he or she received prior to layoff unless that salary is greater than the top step of the new range, in which case the employee will be placed at the top step of the new range. An employee appointed from a layoff list shall be credited with sick leave and seniority accrued at the time of layoff.
