Common use of Redundancy / Severance Clause in Contracts

Redundancy / Severance. a) Subject to Subclause (c) and (d) hereof, employees shall be entitled to a severance payment of $55.00 per completed week of service. This payment shall be increased to $60.00 per completed week of service from 1 July 2009. b) The severance payment shall accrue weekly and be paid out to the employee at the completion of the employee's term on the project. c) An employee who terminates their employment before the completion of four weeks continuous service shall not be entitled to the provisions of this clause. d) This provision does not apply to apprentices.
