Reassignment & Transfer. It is understood that the Director of Public Safety retains the right to reassign or transfer a member to ensure the needs, interests, and effective operation of the Police Department or to ensure the safety of a member or the public. Prior to such reassignment or transfer, the Director of Public Safety will meet with the member and a Lodge representative to apprise the member of the reason(s) for the planned reassignment or transfer and to receive input from the member and the Lodge. Should the reassignment or transfer be grieved, the grievant bears the burden of showing that the reassignment or transfer violates the Agreement.β
