Common use of Proof of Employment Clause in Contracts

Proof of Employment. Upon termination of employment, regardless of reason, the employer will provide, on request, a letter of employment confirming the employee’s position and term of employment. This letter must be provided to the Union and the Employee within five (5) days of the request being made, or as soon thereafter as is practicable. The letter of employment will not share any information that is disparaging or negative about a former employee, provide any barrier to Employment Insurance or in any way attempt to prevent an employee from finding future work. The Employer will limit communication to any third party to that information contained in the letter of employment.
