Common use of Program Planning Clause in Contracts

Program Planning. While recognizing its own authority and responsibility for the content and quality of the programs in which it places its Students, the University notes the essential role of All faculty in the presentation of clinical and practical experiences and programs of instruction to Students. Thus, where there is core curriculum teaching in a department or program at the Hospital, the Deans of the University’s Faculties and Schools, or their delegates, will invite the Hospital to participate in the planning of the programs and experiences to be offered to Students in related Departments at the University. Hospital participation could range from representation on University divisional/departmental education/curriculum committees to informal meetings between course coordinators and Hospital preceptors. The University will assist the Hospital as required in setting up teaching programs. The Hospital will notify the appropriate ▇▇▇▇ or her/his delegate(s) of any proposed change in Hospital strategic plans and Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care accountability agreements that would materially affect the teaching obligations of the Hospital as set out in this Agreement and, where feasible, will invite the University to comment prior to making any such changes.
