The 'Professional/Technical' clause defines the standards and qualifications required for individuals or entities performing specialized services under the agreement. Professional/Technical. A. Classification. The professional/technical designation is for exempt employees. When a new classification or vacancy exists, the Chief Human Resources Officer and the Association shall meet to decide if the classification shall be exempt.
Professional/Technical. The workday for professional technical employees shall be seven and three quarter (7¾) hours including a one (1) hour dutyfree lunch except for foremen/ planners assigned a ten (10) hour/four (4) day per week schedule and for profes sional/technical employees in the Transportation Department.The School District will offer the ten (10) hour/four (4) day per week schedule first to volunteers. In the event there are insufficient volunteers, the least senior foremen/planners will be required to work. The workday shall be scheduled between 7:00 am and 6:00 p.m., except that the workday for the ten (10) hour/four (4) day per week schedule shall be scheduled between Wednesday and Saturday and between 6:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. The workday for Scheduling Analysts I and II (Job Codes 7556 and 7557), Garage Supervisors I and II (Job Codes 7546 and 7547) and Dispatchers (Job Code 7520) shall be an eight (8) hour day including a thirty (30) minute dutyfree lunch.
Professional/Technical a) “Professional/Technical Staff” shall be all other regular full time/part time employees covered by this certification and shall include the following: Assistant Directors designated by department or function such as - Research, Finance and Operations, Agency and Community Services, Information Systems, Resource Development and Marketing and Communications - and any other Assistant Director positions mutually agreed.
b) Professional and Technical staff are not strictly limited by Article 18, Hours of Work, specifically clause 18.01 (a). Compensation for the more flexible work schedule required of Professional and Technical employees consists of higher salary levels and longer vacation periods.
Professional/Technical. (a) An employee who is subject to lay off and can not be assigned to a position as provided in Section (b) below may be assigned temporarily to any other vacancy in a department in the bargaining unit for which he/she is qualified.
(b) At least three (3) days before being laid off or force transferred an appointed employee shall be informed of all vacancies in any other work locations in his/her classification in the department in which he/she holds an appointment, for the purpose of giving him/her an opportunity, to be exercised within said three (3) days, to fill such vacancy. If he/she requests appointment to such vacancy, he/she shall be assigned thereto. In the event that vacancies in such classification exist in several work locations, he/she shall be assigned to the vacancy designated by him/her. In the event more than one (1) appointed employee in such classification is laid off or involuntarily transferred and there are insufficient vacancies for such assignments, then the laid off employees with the highest system seniority shall first be assigned to the vacancies involved.
(c) In the event of a departmental reduction in force, including reductions caused by the discontinuance of a facility or its relocation, the employees shall be involuntarily transferred in the inverse order of seniority of the employees in the department.
Professional/Technical. All regularly employed professional and technical employees. All regularly employed licensed practical nurses and registered nurses. All regularly employed Kennel Attendants and Animal Control Officers. Excluded from representation by the above mentioned bargaining units shall be elected and appointed officials, supervisors, confidential clerical employees, employees in the office of Human Resources, Judicial Administrative Secretaries, District Court Secretary- Recorders, Assignment Clerk/Office Manager, contract attorneys, referees, employees represented by other bargaining units and all other employees.
Professional/Technical. Supervise a group of professional employees/contractors or a significant multi- disciplinary project(s) or program(s) or provide specialist expert advice to achieve defined objectives.
