PROFESSIONAL STAFF DEVELOPMENT. 5.1901 PURPOSE District administrators will meet individually and/or collectively with teachers at each building to collaboratively develop short and long term goals to improve the educational program for the school. Ongoing Staff Development programs will be provided to facilitate the accomplishment of individual and building goals.

PROFESSIONAL STAFF DEVELOPMENT. Section 8.01 - Purpose The Board will provide the highest quality professional development opportunities possible, as mandated by state law, for staff members. Professional staff development concerns shall be the responsibility of building and District school improvement teams.
PROFESSIONAL STAFF DEVELOPMENT. A majority of the members of the staff development committee will be classroom teachers. The members of the staff development committee will choose the chairperson to serve a one year term; however, if no other members of the committee wish to take on the responsibilities of chairperson the chairperson may hold the position for an additional term. The chairperson of the staff development committee will be compensated according to Appendix E: Extra-Duty Compensation Schedule.
PROFESSIONAL STAFF DEVELOPMENT. Professional development days will be scheduled and distributed throughout the year in order to allow time for staff to reflect upon and implement new learning.
PROFESSIONAL STAFF DEVELOPMENT. A Staff Development Committee (SDC) shall be formed, consisting of the Superintendent or designees and other administrators, an MEA officer, and a teacher representative selected by MEA from each school building, to schedule and plan professional staff development meetings and teacher workshop days. The SDC shall meet at least once during each semester of the school year and otherwise as the SDC determines. Meetings shall be scheduled in advance and will be held outside the teacher work day.

PROFESSIONAL STAFF DEVELOPMENT. ‌ Each bargaining unit member shall complete professional/staff development activities as directed by their supervisor. Failure of any employee to complete professional/staff development activities as directed by the supervisor shall constitute just cause for disciplinary action.
