Priority Rehire Clause Samples

A priority-rehire clause establishes the right of former employees, typically those laid off due to redundancy or restructuring, to be considered for re-employment before new candidates are hired. In practice, this means that if a position similar to the one previously held becomes available within a certain timeframe, the employer must offer it first to eligible former employees. This clause helps protect workers by providing them with a pathway back to employment and ensures fairness in rehiring practices, addressing concerns about job security after layoffs.
