Common use of POSITION OBJECTIVES Clause in Contracts

POSITION OBJECTIVES. The purpose of this position is to provide strategic and operational leadership in developing and delivering organisational and people capacity to meet the current and future needs of council. The position works collaboratively with the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Directors and Departmental Managers to find solutions to often complex HR issues across a range of areas. These issues include: people and culture; recruitment; talent sourcing; performance and change management; organisational design; risk management; workforce planning; industrial relations; occupational, health & safety; diversity and inclusion, employee engagement; remuneration and gender equity. The position is also responsible for ensuring organisational people management policies reflect “best practice” and are applied consistently throughout the organisation and in accordance with state and federal laws. This position leads a team of five permanent staff (one direct report) responsible for the day to day delivery of HR services to an internal client base supporting approximately 200 (EFT) staff.
