PLACEMENT ON STEPS Sample Clauses
The "Placement on Steps" clause defines how an employee's position or salary is determined within a structured pay scale or step system. Typically, this clause outlines the criteria for assigning an employee to a specific step based on factors such as prior experience, education, or length of service. For example, a new hire with several years of relevant experience might be placed at a higher step than an entry-level employee. The core function of this clause is to ensure fairness and consistency in compensation decisions, preventing arbitrary placement and providing transparency in how pay levels are assigned.
