Common use of Permissible Uses Clause in Contracts

Permissible Uses. Members may use sick leave for absence due to the member’s illness, injury, doctor or dentist appointments, or exposure to contagious disease that could be communicated to other employees, and absence due to serious illness or injury or death in the employee’s immediate family. Use of said leave will be on an hour-for-hour basis. Sick leave uses for routine medical/dental appointments are subject to approval of the Fire Chief or designee. Members will make every effort to schedule such appointments on their days off.
