Compensation Upon Separation. Upon separation from the City's service an employee shall be entitled to compensation for earned but unused vacation leave to the employee's credit at the time of separation. Computation of pay for unused vacation shall be based on the hourly rate (as shown in the pay plan) times accrued but unused vacation hours. Death, either on duty or off duty, is considered as a separation from service, and compensation for accrued and unused vacation hours as identified in this Article will be paid according to law.
